Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon) is a city of contrasts. There is the ultra modern, the French colonial and also the communist architecture. There is great wealth but also clear poverty. What you can see though is the city is moving forward at a great pace.

The French colonists left their mark on the city, with sweeping boulevards, a great grid road system (we could have done with that in Sydney) and some beautiful old buildings.
