AO Show

Off to the Saigon Opera House for a show called The AO Show - aka Vietnamese Bamboo circus.

Not your usual tourist rubbish, the show is a smaller version of a Cirque style show. It could easily tour globally and would be recognised as a quality act.

Basically think of any circus act you normally see in these style of acrobat shows and put them to traditional influenced Vietnamese music and use traditional Vietnamese fishing motifs for the props and you have AO Show. They also throw in a good dose of humour. Some of the things they do with the little traditional bamboo woven fishing boats are amazing. The traditional boats here are typical of similar boats the world over (eg the oldest style curraghs in the West of Ireland were similar round shaped boats).
